        There was a time when my life was defined by a constant loop of insanity. I was completely homeless, destitute, and living on the streets—shuttling in and out of jail cells, living the exact cycle of despair that the recovery literature talks about. I was trapped.

But eventually, the pain of staying the same became greater than the fear of change.

I was fed up. I was finally, truly ready to fight for my life. I was ready for recovery.
